Interview: Ishita Moitra - “Women are now writing every kind of film and show”

Hindustan Times

My dad was in the army and every two years, I went to a different school, in a different city. So you’d find TV writers to be way richer than film writers. Back then, I didn’t see too many top films written by women except Fanaa and My Name is Khan, which were written by Shibani Bathija. When people used to ask me in Delhi, “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?”, I used to laugh and say, “Oh, I’ll be writing for Karan.” And when it really happened, it was really like living a dream. I have seen it in the theatres a few times and after the first couple of times, I wasn’t just watching the film but You have written Four More Shots Please – a show that has been fairly popular with a certain kind of audience.
