Complaint boxes distributed to colleges

District Collector H.S.Srikanth on Thursday distributed complaint boxes to women’s colleges in the district to enable women to lodge complaints of sexual harassment, if any. Mr.Srikanth said that all government and private institutions with more than 10 employees, including women, have to constitute internal committees to receive and probe complaints of sexual harassment from women, if any. All the offices should have complaint boxes with two locks each and the keys should be with members of the internal committee of the respective institution. Stern action would be taken against those failing to comply with or violating the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act,2013 Act, Mr.Srikanth said.
