Delhi government to use AI model for Mohalla Bus initiative

India Today

Using big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and the expertise of IIT-Delhi, the Delhi government is finalising the routes for its ambitious 'Mohalla Bus' initiative, aiming to solve last-mile connectivity issues in the national capital. By identifying underserved and high-footfall areas, the government aims to ensure that the Mohalla bus network not only enhances connectivity but also operates sustainably, he stated. It will also capture transit and travel time data from transportation agencies and passenger information platforms like Google Maps to determine ease of travel between locations and identify underserved areas. Inclusive and Grounded Approach: Besides leveraging AI, the Delhi government is also using input from local legislators, residents, and data gathered by the transport department's technical team during a comprehensive 30-day ground assessment for determining Mohalla bus routes.
