UGC-NET exam on January 15 postponed

The National Testing Agency has decided to postpone the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test scheduled on January 15 on account of Pongal, Makar Sankranti and other festivals. The NTA said it had received representation to postpone the UGC-NET December 2024 examination and it had decided to grant the request in the interest of aspirants. “Examination scheduled on January 16, 2025 will be conducted as per earlier schedule,” the NTA circular said, advising the candidates to visit the NTA websites for latest updates. In its representation to the UGC, the Students Federation of India had said that the scheduled dates, particularly January 13 and 16, coincided with festivals such as Sankranti, Pongal, and Makara Pongal, which are widely celebrated in several south Indian States.
