Chinese Scientists Create Moon Bricks Using Simulated Lunar Soil
Chinese scientists have created bricks using simulated lunar soil and plan to send them to the nation's Tiangong space station for experiments. The bricks are more than three times stronger than standard bricks and can support more than 1 metric ton of weight. The composition of lunar soil varies in different locations on the moon, and the bricks must be capable of enduring extreme temperature changes, cosmic radiation and impacts from micrometeorites.
