Qingdao's Dacun grapes ripen to perfection, shaping local viticulture
China DailyGrapes in the vineyards of Dacun town in Qingdao West Coast New Area are currently ripening, made distinctive by the region's natural conditions. Situated at 36 degrees north latitude and 120 degrees east longitude, the town benefits from a temperate maritime climate, with an average annual temperature of 12.4 C and abundant sunshine, creating an optimal environment for grape cultivation. The diurnal temperature variation and ample sugar accumulation in the grapes, particularly the Shine Muscat variety, thrive in the low-light conditions, resulting in a rich aroma and high sugar content. As of now, Dacun town has planted over 3,100 mu of Shine Muscat grapes across 15 villages, such as Hebei village, Qianwangjiazhuang village, Songjia village, and Xibeilonggu village.
