Tungsten mining: DMK ‘enacting drama’ on mining issue alleged L. Murugan
The HinduUnion Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan on Friday alleged the DMK was “enacting a drama” on the tungsten mining issue as the Tamil Nadu government had not raised any objections during the pre-auction stage of the project in Madurai district. “The DMK and Tamil Nadu government are engaged in childish theatrics on the mining issue. There were several communications from the Ministry, but the Tamil Nadu government did not raise any objection. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy for their intervention in the issue, Mr. Murugan said the Central government decided to annul the auction of mineral block after understanding the concerns of farmers and residents of Nayakkarpatti in Madurai.
