Pfizer was the "last remaining open-market source of drugs used in executions," The New York Times reported. "Pfizer strongly objects to the use of its products as lethal injections for capital punishment." As NPR's Wade Goodwyn reported last year, "this has forced states to seek new formulas using untested doses and find new compounding pharmacies to make their execution drugs."
