Gadkari’s assurance to Kumaraswamy on Satellite Town Ring Road project
The HinduUnion Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy said on Wednesday he had been assured of the Satellite Town Ring Road project being placed before the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee for evaluation at the earliest. The STRR, which is expected to reduce traffic congestion, came up for discussion during a meeting of Mr. Kumaraswamy with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Wednesday. This ambitious initiative by the Central government to reduce Bengaluru’s traffic congestion will also be a significant contribution to industrial growth.” Other projects Appealing for an outer ring road and bypass development in Mandya, Mr. Kumaraswamy also presented over 10 proposals aimed at accelerating highway development in the State, including those in Mandya, Kolar, Chickballapur, Chamarajanagar, and Mysuru districts. The note said Mr. Kumaraswamy pointed out the need to widen the Mandya bypass, improve its white-topping, and develop pedestrian pathways and junctions along NH-275 within Mandya city.
