Michael Cohen's explosive testimony plays like a mob movie, but could be dismissed
Congressional hearing room 2154 is usually staid and cramped, but a hearing from Donald Trump's former fixer, Michael Cohen, transformed it into a scene reminiscent of a mob movie. The problem is that his actions on behalf of Mr Trump only account for some of Cohen's guilty pleas — namely, lying to Congress about a Trump Tower project in Moscow and making hush money payments to women who allegedly had affairs with the President. That was the response when Cohen said Mr Trump often made racist remarks in private, including "that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid". It was the response when Cohen claimed he witnessed conversations where Mr Trump was informed by his son Don Jr and associate Roger Stone about efforts to undermine Hillary Clinton's campaign.
