Groups of protesters roamed Beirut on motorcycles and gathered outside the French embassy, and the headquarters of the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia. They were unable to reach the heavily fortified U.S. embassy compound in the hills north of Beirut, according to the Associated Press. toggle caption Bilal Hussein/AP toggle caption Mussa Hattar/AFP via Getty Images toggle caption Vahid Salemi/AP toggle caption Murtadha Al-Sudani/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images toggle caption Bilal Hussein/AP Enlarge this image toggle caption Emrah Gurel/AP Emrah Gurel/AP toggle caption Joseph Eid/AFP via Getty Images toggle caption Emrah Gurel/AP toggle caption Umit Turhan Coskun/AFP via Getty Images toggle caption Ilker Eray/Middle East Images/AFP via Getty toggle caption Efekan Akyuz/Middle East Images/AFP via Getty toggle caption Umit Turhan Coskun/AFP via Getty Images toggle caption Berkcan Zengin/Middle East Images/AFP/Getty Images
