Kerala HC asks State to start a website to upload complaints against illegal hoardings
The Kerala High Court on Wednesday asked the State government to start a website where complaints against illegal hoardings and flags put up in public places can be uploaded. Justice Devan Ramachandran also asked the government to give the details of the authorities responsible for taking action to resolve such complaints in the website. When cases against the unauthorised boards and flags came up for hearing, the court directed the Special Secretary, Local Self-Government department, to inform it about the proposal for starting a website for uploading the complaints. The court passed the order when it was brought to its notice by the amicus curiae that there is no effective systems where citizens can bring the issue of illegal erection of such boards to the notice of the authorities.
