'Probably racist': Morning Joe skewers GOP response to 'generational shift' in 2024 race
Raw StoryMSNBC's Joe Scarborough called out the Republican Party's initial response to Vice President Kamala Harris taking over the Democratic presidential campaign. President Joe Biden withdrew from his re-election campaign after weeks of pressure from other Democrats who were concerned about his age and fitness, and the "Morning Joe" host said the ascension of the 59-year-old Harris had delivered a jolt to a presidential race that featured a rematch between two candidates born in the 1940s. Scarborough highlighted a social media post by Rep. Tim Burchett claiming that Harris was unqualified to serve as vice president, let alone chief executive, because, the GOP lawmaker falsely said, she had benefitted from “diversity, equity and inclusion” programs. "I will tell you, when I look at the vice president, I'm just looking at somebody that is a generation younger than Donald Trump," Scarborough added.
