Expert commission submits recommendations on revamping Kerala Agricultural University

The Hindu

Measures for raising Kerala Agricultural University to international standards, launching new courses, and steps for improving research are reportedly among the recommendations submitted by an expert commission appointed by the State government. The panel headed E. Balaguruswamy, former member of the Union Public Service Commission and Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, has submitted its report to Agriculture Minister P. Prasad, the Agriculture Department said in a statement on Wednesday. The State government had appointed the commission in May 2023 to prepare recommendations for revamping KAU on the grounds that ‘‘special measures of improvement’‘ were needed to maintain the requisite standard of teaching/research. Balachandran, and KAU Vice-Chancellor B. Ashok were the members of the panel and former KAU Registrar K. Aravindakshan and former Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor K. Ramaswamy were special invitees.
