Is travelling ticketless, paying bribe okay? GDB survey will shock you
India TodayDo you feel it's okay to tamper with electricity meters, travel without a ticket or offer bribes to a government official to get work done? While there are indices to measure the economic performance of states, the GDB survey, for the first time, measures where states stand when it comes to social responsibility and adherence to civic norms. The India Today GDB survey finds 61% of respondents say it is sometimes necessary to grease the palms to get work done. Though there is no way to see how the Swachh Bharat Mission has changed public behaviour, the debut India Today GDB survey shows 86% of respondents disapprove of littering in public spaces. The first India Today GDB survey is an eye-opener and reveals the perception of people on civic responsibilities.
