Election Results 2019: TRS leads in 11 out of 17 seats in Telangana
Live MintHyderabad: The Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi seems to be heading for a comfortable win in the state, with the TRS leading in 10 out of the total 17 Lok Sabha seats. The TRS, which is ruling in the state, had claimed that it will win as many as 16 seats, but the Bharatiya Janata and Congress are likely to win a handful of seats, with the All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen likely to retain the Hyderabad parliamentary constituency. The Election Commission of India website also showed the AIMIM leading in another Lok Sabha seat, which is likely to be the Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Rao had been claiming a sweep of all the Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, and was looking to leverage that in case the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance falls short of numbers to form the government.
