CBSE moves for more application-based questions for Classes 9 to 12
CBSE Class 10, 12 exams 2021: The Central Board of Secondary Education has made modifications in the classes 9 to 12 exam papers. For classes 11 to 12, the competency based questions will be 20 per cent, objective questions- 20 per cent, remaining 60 per cent will be short answer or long answer questions. Teachers' take on CBSE's new assessment scheme: Bharti Kalra, Vice Principal, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Sector-8, Rohini said, "It is the need of the hour to move from rote learning to competency based education. DAV Public School, Pushpanjali Enclave principal Rashmi Raj Biswal said that application based questions are one of the best option to test students ability to apply knowledge and concepts. "CBSE’s move to inculcate various formats of application based questions is indeed a step towards the above vision, which will not only challenge students but will also improve critical and creative thinking, problem solving and would be suitable for the 21st century needs for the achievement of SDGs Agenda 2030," she said.
