Weihai promotes intl youth exchanges

China Daily

Under the guidance of the Weihai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Weihai Jingyuan Primary School has carried out a series of online youth exchanges with Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Naam Kheung, a school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Students from Weihai Jingyuan Primary School attend an online exchange activity with a school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The students from Weihai Jingyuan Primary School also shared their experiences of visiting two famous Chinese attractions, Mount Tai and the Forbidden City, during the National Day holiday, and this gave their Malaysian counterparts a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural significance embodied by China's famous landmarks. Teachers from Weihai Jingyuan Primary School then interpreted "Shui Diao Ge Tou" or Moon in Glass, a famous poem by Song Dynasty poet Su Shi, to students from both China and Malaysia, allowing them to appreciate the poet's optimistic attitude towards life, as well as his heartfelt wishes for those who have experienced the pain of separation.
