Bihar govt suspends 2 IPS officers on charges of corruption, links with liquor mafia
India TodayChief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government on Tuesday suspended two IPS officers, Aditya Kumar and Daya Shankar, with immediate effect. The 2011 batch IPS officer Aditya Kumar is accused of colluding with the liquor mafia when he was the SSP of Gaya. However, a massive controversy erupted when Aditya Kumar's friend Abhishek Agarwal, posing to be Judge of Patna High Court, called Bihar DGP SK Singhal several times on his mobile phone directing him to close the case against the IPS officer. It is when the DGP initiated action to close the case against Aditya Kumar and sent the file for consent of the chief minister's office that this entire controversy came to light and the police arrested Abhishek Agarwal along with his three other associates.
