‘Ensure clean and green mining environment’

The mining and geology community should embrace new techniques and adhere to relevant laws and regulations to ensure systematic mine development and effective mineral conservation, said G.C. Speaking at the valediction of the Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation Week here recently, Mr. Sethi highlighted Tamil Nadu’s significance as a mineral-rich state and underlined the importance of ensuring a clean and green mining environment. Forty-three mines participated in the event organised jointly by the ME&MC Council, Tamil Nadu, and Dalmia Cement Ltd., Dalmiapuram, according to a press release from Dalmia Cement Ltd. K. Vinayagamurthi, Executive Director, Dalmia Cement Ltd., Dalmiapuram, said the MEMC Week gave an opportunity for the industry to engage with the local communities, empower its workforce, and showcase its commitment to fostering sustainable and responsible approach to mining. The event included an awards ceremony to recognise outstanding contributions to environmental conservation and sustainable mining practices.
