Bus operators flay photo-based enforcement actions
The HinduThe Kerala State Private Bus Operators’ Federation has expressed strong protest over the attempts by various checking squads to carry out enforcement actions based on photographs captured at various spots in the name of violations. “This one-sided enforcement action, without the knowledge of bus operators, should be stopped immediately as the bus operators in Kerala are now going through an acute financial crisis,” said Federation leaders K.T. Some goods vehicle owners have also come out in support of private bus operators’ demand to stop legal actions based on photographs taken from various spots. The Federation functionaries pointed out that the number of private buses, which was above 34,000 nearly 15 years ago, was now only 7,000 in Kerala because of various hostile rules and inconsiderate enforcement actions.
