
Mayor distributes incentive to 45 class 10 toppers from govt. schools
The HinduGoing ahead with realising promises made in its 2024-25 Budget, Mangaluru City Corporation Council on Saturday distributed a total ₹2.25 lakh as incentive to 45 class 10 students of government schools who scored 90% and above marks in the examinations conducted last year. The Mayor also gave away ₹10 lakh to Patla Foundation for teaching Yakshagana free of cost to government school students. The Mayor also gave away ₹2.5 lakh each to the organisers of two kambalas, slush track buffalo race, in the city. Speaking on the occasion, Kadri Manohar Shetty, chairman, Standing Committee for Taxation, Finance and Appeals said that the Patla Foundation was considered for granting the incentive as it was found only the organisation which taught free Yakshagana to government school students.
