Osmania University to Host Thanksgiving Event
Hyderabad: A thanksgiving meeting on December 18 at Osmania University’s Arts College is expected to bring together unemployed youth and students to celebrate key milestones in employment and education reforms achieved under the Congress government’s first year in power. Organised by the Telangana Students and Unemployees’ Joint Action Committee, the event aims to reflect on the “transformative year that has provided much-needed relief to job aspirants and students after years of setbacks.” They credited the Congress government with fill over 55,000 vacancies, implementing horizontal reservations as per Supreme Court guidelines, and ensuring a transparent recruitment process. Group-2 exams are scheduled for mid-December, signalling the state’s commitment to maintaining a consistent recruitment timeline,” they said. Educational reforms, such as a 40 per cent increase in diet and cosmetic allowances for students, and the establishment of institutions like the Young India Skill University and Sports University, have added momentum to these efforts, they said.
