Cultural programmes, distribution of welfare assistance mark Republic Day celebrations

Cultural programmes and distribution of welfare assistance marked the Republic Day celebrations in Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts. While the Thanjavur Collector distributed welfare assistances worth ₹2.29 crore to 63 beneficiaries, the Tiruvarur Collector presented ₹28.56 lakh worth assistances to 27 beneficiaries on the occasion. Students from various schools in Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts presented cultural programmes on the occasion at their respective district headquarters. Meanwhile, Mayors, Municipal and Town Panchayat Chairmen of the respective civic bodies in Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts unfurled the national flags at their respective local body headquarters.
