Retired City Officials Cling to Posts

HYDERABAD: Over 50 retired officials including the ones holding key posts in various departments under the Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development are clinging to their posts and the state government will shortly take a call on either to retain them or sack them. Senior officials of the general administration department said that their services were extended on the recommendations of former chief secretary Somesh Kumar and former MA&UD special chief secretary Arvind Kumar. Most of these officials were accommodated in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration. Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board executive director M. Satyanarayana’s service was extended thrice for three consecutive years.
