Pink-ball Test: This game showed us where England are as a Test side in these conditions, says Nasser Hussain
India TodayFormer England captain Nasser Hussain said that the two-day end to the Pink-ball Test was a glaring example of where the current England Test team stands when it comes to playing in sub-continental pitches. He also went on to say that the pitch cannot be blamed for the match ending within two days, and said that the batsmen failed to adapt to the conditions and added that the loss in the second Test in Chennai also affected their rhythm to play spin bowling. “I don't believe the Ahmedabad pitch provided a fair contest between bat and ball but neither do I believe England can use that as an excuse for losing the third Test. “India's two spinners Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin exploited the conditions beautifully: Patel with his pace and accuracy, Ashwin with his clever variations,” he added.
