Melbourne's coronavirus restrictions roadmap: The five steps from stage 4 lockdown to 'COVID normal'
ABCThe Victorian Government has released a staged plan to ease Melbourne out of its tight coronavirus restrictions. Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said it was likely Melbourne would be able to take its next "big step" a week earlier than expected, with October 19 now looking like the date Melbourne could move to the third step. Mr Andrews said outdoor pools would reopen and personal training for up to two people would be allowed, but gyms would remain closed. Third step Melbourne was expected to move to this stage from October 26, if the state can record fewer than five new daily cases and five "mystery cases" with unknown community transmission, on average over a two-week period. Initially, the Government said beauty parlours would remain shut until the last step — but later, it said beauty and personal services could resume during the third step, where masks could be worn.
