Actor John Lithgow approached to play Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter series

The acclaimed American actor, John Lithgow, is reportedly near to close his deal for the Harry Potter series. The HBO show will apparently see Lithgow portraying the iconic character of Albus Dumbledore. HBO's Harry Potter TV series will be ready for its premiere next summer. During a recent interaction, director and producer Mark Mylod shared that 32,000 children auditioned for the roles, including for the parts of the main cast -- Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
