Botched surgery case: report sought from Kozhikode District Collector

The Principal Sub Judge’s Court in Kozhikode on Tuesday sought a report from the District Collector on the financial situation of K.K. Ms. Harshina has sought a compensation of ₹1.95 crore from the Health department, Principal, medical college; superintendent, Institute of Maternal and Child Health, where the incident happened; and three doctors and two nurses, who were part of the team that performed the surgery on her. Subsequently, Leena Rasheed, the Principal Sub Judge, sought to know the financial situation of Ms. Harshina and her family from the Collector. Ms. Harshina has claimed that a surgical instrument was left behind in her stomach after a C-Section surgery performed at the IMCH in 2017.
