Vijayawada: Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer issued notifications on Tuesday, appointing vice-chancellors for nine universities in the state. Venkata Basava Rao, senior professor of chemical engineering in Osmania University becomes the VC of Rayalaseema University, Kurnool. Prof Allam Srinivasa Rao, professor, luminescent materials in the department of Applied Physics, Delhi Technological University, Delhi, is named VC to Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore. Prof Phanithi Prakash Babu, senior professor in the department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, is appointed as VC to Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa. CSRK Prasad, professor of Civil Engineering/Transportation Engineering, NIT, Warangal, is named VC to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.
