Torrential downpour batters Delhi, Gurugram; at least five people killed in rain-related incidents in UP
India TV NewsHeavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed in many parts of Delhi on Tuesday. Areas around Indira Gandhi International Airport, Teen Murti Bhavan and RK Puram among others witnessed heavy rains and lightning in the morning. Water logging also led to massive traffic jams in many areas including Huda City Centre, Iffco Chowk, Golf Course road, Hero Honda Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Sohna Road, just to name a few. The India Meteorological Department had earlier predicted heavy rain at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka on Tuesday. Meanwhile, at least five people were killed in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.
