Jagan to launch e-autos under Bin-free, Litter-free and Garbage-free AP' initiative

VIJAYAWADA: With a vision to make all cities in Andhra Pradesh to become “Bin-free, Litter-free and Garbage-free”, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would inaugurate e-autos for ‘segregated garbage collection’ under the Clean Andhra Pradesh programme on June 8. The key objectives are 100 per cent segregation of waste at source and door-to-door collection with community participation, 100 per cent scientific treatment of the waste generated, community participation and ownership of the reforms, visual cleanliness of the cities and good public health standards. As part of the Jagananna Swachha Sankalp, so far, 120 lakh bins with colour coding for segregation of wet, dry and hazardous waste were distributed to 40 lakh households across 123 municipalities. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government is establishing 135 garbage transfer stations in 81 municipalities at a cost of Rs 156.61 crore.
