China DailyXinhua | Updated: 2024-10-02 15:20 BEIRUT - The Israeli army and Hezbollah fought fiercely, using various weapons, in southeast Lebanon on early Wednesday morning, according to Lebanese official sources. Lebanese military and security sources told Xinhua that an Israeli infantry commando force of about 40 members tried to infiltrate under cover of drones to the eastern edge of the border village of Adaysseh in southeast Lebanon. "The Israeli infantry force managed to cross the barbed-wire border fence from the Misgav Am settlement for a distance of about 150 meters before colliding with an ambush set up by Hezbollah members affiliated with the Radwan Forces," said the sources. "A violent clash took place between the two sides from a short distance, during which machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, and hand grenades were used," they told Xinhua, adding that the Israeli army bombarded the area surrounding the clash violently to help the Israeli troops withdraw from the axis of the clashes.
