Dec. 26, 1968: Two Bunker Hill Victorian mansions, the Salt Box, left, and the Castle, sit at temporary location en route to their new homes. A reproduction of a Los Angeles Times clipping from Oct. 10, 1969, shows the ruins of the Castle, left, which was totally destroyed, and the still-standing remains of the Salt Box, right, after suspicious fire.
