Cops seek custody of juveniles in Hayathnagar gangrape case
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad: The police on Saturday filed a petition with the Juvenile Justice Board, requesting custody of the five juveniles who are accused of gangraping their 17-year-old classmate at her residence in Hayathnagar and filming the act. Police sources, indicating that they are likely to get custody by December 5, said that they would record the juveniles’ statements and determine the sequence of events. The police had recorded the victim’s statement on November 28, following which five boys were taken into custody, subjected to potency and bone density tests, produced at the LB Nagar JJB and detained at Saidabad Juvenile Home, all on November 29. The police seized three mobile phones containing the videos of the assaults and filed relevant cases under the POCSO Act and the IT Act.
