'Sengol bent on the first day,' Tamil Nadu
ABP NewsNew Delhi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin attacked the BJP-led central government for police action against protesting wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Mallik, and Bajrang Punia, saying that the Sengol bent on the very first day when the new Parliament building was inaugurated, reported ANI. Notably, protesting wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Mallik, and Bajrang Punia were among others who were manhandled and detained by Delhi Police on Sunday while trying to march towards the new Parliament as they wanted to hold a women's Maha Panchayat in front of the new Parliament. The Tamil Nadu CM said that it has been several months since female wrestlers filed sexual complaints against a BJP member of Parliament, Brij Bhushan Singh, however, no action has been taken against him. Earlier on Sunday, chaotic scenes were witnessed at the dharna site at Jantar Mantar, barely three kilometres from the new Parliament building that was inaugurated by the prime minister, as protesters and police personnel shoved and pushed each other when the Phogat sisters, Sakshi Malik, and others tried to breach the barricades.
