According to documents being dealt with by Companies House, a declaration of solvency for the charity has been launched and a voluntary liquidator for the Sussex Royal charitable body has been appointed. Earlier this month, a source who works closely with the royal couple told The Independent that paperwork had been filed with Companies House and the Charity Commission to officially shut down Sussex Royal. The duke will continue as director and trustee of Sussex Royal charity “until the liquidation process is complete”. Shortly after, the Queen and her officials declared the couple had to stop using the word “Royal” in their Sussex Royal brand and, after failing to successfully trademark it, the couple unveiled details for a different charity, Archewell, which will consist of charitable ventures, support groups and a wellbeing website.
