Mechanic Rocky is a lackluster fare on cyber fraudsters
Deccan ChronicleCast: Vishwak Sen, Meenakshi choudhary, Shraddha Srinath, Naresh, Sunil and Harsha Direction: Ravi Teja Mullapudi Ratings 1.5/ 5 stars After failing to impress with "Gangs of Godavari," young actor Vishwak Sen picks an interesting plot –on cyber fraudsters- but by making it ‘hero-centric’ and adding fights and songs to dilute the seriousness of relevant and topical online scams. Whereas, the key story about people being defrauded by nameless and unknown criminals who threaten and blackmail gullible people over phone and loot money is just confined to few scenes and one where a police officer explains to hero and heroine Meenakshi Chaudhury, how it has become difficult for cops to track faceless criminals. Neither his love story with Meenakshi Chaudhary lacks enough depth, while his new mission goes for a toss and sounds just passable, which should have otherwise been more gripping. Vishwak Sen is doing different roles like Aghora in ‘Gaami’ and ruffian kind of role in ‘Gangs of Godavari’ and again plays a mechanic but this role is quite typical.
