Regional Imbalance Redressal Committee to reassess lack of development in various areas

The State-level Regional Imbalance Redressal Committee will reassess the lack of development suffered by various regions due to various reasons, including their geographical location, committee chairman M. Govinda Rao said in Belagavi on Thursday. However, in the current context, there is a need to review the said report in accordance with the times and come up with new guidelines or recommendations based on the current human development indices. He said that the committee is touring the State to hear from various stakeholders and obtain suggestions and opinions from members of various sectors in the four divisions of the State. Finance Secretary and member-secretary of the committee Vishal R. said that the government will not only release grants to various sectors but also understand various incentives being given to industry, food processing and other sectors, after getting their feedback.
