Judge in Trump criminal hush money case delays sentencing indefinitely
The HinduThe judge in President-elect Donald Trump’s criminal hush money case on Friday delayed his sentencing indefinitely, in what the President-elect’s team called a “decisive win” as he prepares to return to the White House. “In a decisive win for President Trump, the hoax Manhattan Case is now fully stayed and sentencing is adjourned,” Mr. Trump’s communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement. ‘Motion to dismiss’ Ahead of the election in November, Mr. Trump's lawyers moved to have the case thrown out in light of the Supreme Court decision, a move which prosecutors firmly rejected. Alongside the hush money case, Mr. Trump faces two active federal cases: one related to his effort to overturn the 2020 election and the other connected to classified documents he allegedly mishandled after leaving office.
