A.J. Brown caught reading on sidelines during Eagles’ wild-card win: ‘This game is mental’

New York Times

Brown strives for inner excellence every game, but during the Philadelphia Eagles’ 22-10 wild-card victory over the Green Bay Packers, he read from it, too. Midway through the fourth quarter, Brown was on the bench and caught by TV cameras reading “Inner Excellence: Train Your Mind for Extraordinary Performance and the Best Possible Life” by Jim Murphy. “But I’ve seen a quarterback eat a hot dog.” AJ Brown is reading a book on the sideline? Nothing matters, nothing happened, re-lock back in.” Brown also posted photos of his worn, annotated copy of the book to X postgame, adding that he sees football as “90 mental and 10 physical.” “I bring it to every game and I read it between each drive,” Brown wrote.
