It's Time to Rethink How We Approach One of the Biggest Issues of Our Time

In this post-1.5-degree world, it’s clear that we need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to climate action. If you find yourself mired in a system that’s sucking you ever forward toward mass extinction, a good first step would be to comprehensively and entirely opt out of that system. Cancel everything you currently have on auto pay, or at least the things you don’t absolutely need to survive, like subscriptions to household goods, take-out app memberships, and Substack newsletters full of product recommendations. If “do nothing” isn’t a helpful mindset for you, here are some tangible examples of smaller resolutions you might take on: Get your books from the library instead of buying them online, and then donate the money you would have spent back to the author’s Patreon or newsletter.
