Aditi Chauhan: 'Grassroots need to be worked on'

The Hindu

A lot of work needs to be done at grassroots in football, said Indian women’s national team goalkeeper Aditi Chauhan, who also doesn’t want to belittle the momentum gained since the FIFA U-17 World Cup. RELATED | Aditi to lead Delhi in Senior Women’s National Football Championship The Indian soon made a comeback when Loubourough University, where she was studying, gave her a part-time job, which offered her chance to continue playing for West Ham ladies. The AIFF launched the country’s first women’s league - Indian Women’s League in 2016 but Aditi feels focus on the grassroot level is essential for football to grow in the country. Asked about women’s football, Aditi said the team doesn’t receive the kind of attention its male counterparts receive.
