S Jaishankar will visit Kuwait and Kenya this week: MEA
Live MintIndian foreign minister S Jaishankar will be visiting Kuwait and Kenya, two key countries in India's extended neighbourhood this week, the Indian foriegn ministry said in separate statement. He will also carry a personal letter from Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to the Amir of Kuwait,” an Indian foreign ministry statement said on Tuesday. “The year 2021-22 marks the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait,” the Indian statement said adding that traditionally, the two countries have enjoyed “warm and close bilateral relations.” This was characterized by strong people-to-people connect, it said pointing out that there were around one million Indians living in Kuwait. After Kuwait, Jaishankar will travel to Kenya on a three day visit to chair the third India-Kenya joint commission meeting with his Kenyan counterpart, the Indian foreign ministry said in a second statement.
