Entry of foreign Universities in India- Will the number 'hundred' do the magic?
India TodayThe long awaited decision on entry of foreign Universities is finally unveiled in the National Education Policy 2020. Having mentioned this, there are a several encouraging examples where Universities ranked amongst the top hundred do have offshore campuses- Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University and Northwestern University have their offshore campuses at Qatar. The “top hundred” clause will certainly open opportunities for entry of foreign Universities from several countries undoubtedly. Firstly, we cannot rule out the possibility that there may not be enough foreign players from the “top hundred” to enter India. So this allows space for many other top ranked Universities, say, the global “top three hundred ” to operate in India and offer quality education in areas such as management, economics, commerce, law, architectures, to name a few.
