Bureau of Indian Standards conducts sensitisation programme
The HinduThe Bureau of Indian Standards conducted a sensitisation programme for district-level officials here on Thursday to create awareness on the importance of BIS certifications and quality standards for products. He said adherence to BIS standards and quality was imperative and inline with the government’s recent initiatives, and it ensures quality control of products at all levels of procurement and consumer use. There was a session on the Know Your Standards feature on the BIS portal, BIS certification for service delivery, and the importance of certifications for various consumer goods, including footwear, cement, and vehicle tyres. The training covered the simple process for registering complaints related to defective products through the BIS Care App, ensuring that consumer rights are protected effectively.
