Youth feel they cannot enter politics due to lack of political legacy: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that a large number of youth in India are eager to enter politics but feel it is “inconceivable” for them as they lacked a political legacy. In his monthly radio address ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Mr Modi said that his call in his Independence Day speech to one lakh youth without any political background to join politics had “garnered tremendous response”. “Some youth have also written that dynastic politics crushes new talent.I hope that now with our collective efforts, youth who do not possess a political background will also be able to come forward in politics.their experience and their fervour will prove useful for the country,” the PM said. Giving the example of the freedom struggle, he said during that period, many such people without any political background had come forward, “They took the plunge for the sake of India’s freedom.
