Even Tesla, the all-electric juggernaut that has shaped the rise of EVs in the U.S., warned investors that it's in between "growth waves" and has a quieter year ahead. The CEO of Hertz says the company "may have been ahead of ourselves" in how quickly it moved toward EVs — but maintains it's the right long-term plan. Then it reaches the "early adopters" — people who like to buy gadgets and aren't afraid of trying something new. In a recent interview with NPR, the CFO of Volkswagen Group, Arno Antlitz, emphasized "flexibility" and "compromise" when he talked about the company's plan to build EVs.
