Air Force to bolster 'Make in India in Defence' with projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore
India TodayThe Indian Air Force, led by Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, is fully supporting the Narendra Modi government's flagship ‘Make in India in defence sector’ with a program to execute projects worth over Rs 3 lakh crore in the next five years. This indigenous upgrade will involve joint efforts by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and the Indian Air Force, equipping the planes with indigenous radars, avionics, and weapons. Addressing the need for Airborne Early and Control Aircraft through indigenous projects, the Indian Air Force is developing a spy plane capable of monitoring enemy activity efficiently. Furthermore, the Indian Air Force is advancing its long-range air defense systems, having obtained approval for Project Kusha to develop an indigenous S-400 air defense system.
