Seattle Kraken trade Mason Appleton to Jets for 2023 fourth-round pick

New York Times

Mason Appleton is returning where it all began. The Kraken have traded Appleton to the Winnipeg Jets for a 2023 fourth-round pick, Seattle announced. Seattle's latest trade comes after it sent captain Mark Giordano and forward Colin Blackwell to the Toronto Maple Leafs for two second-round picks and a third-round pick earlier in the day. Murat Ates, Jets beat writer: Appleton seized an opportunity on Winnipeg's third line last season, setting career highs in goals, assists, and points. The six-foot-two speedster spent his breakout season honing a power forward's game, showing himself as one of the few Jets forwards who could turn the corner on a defender and drive bullishly towards goal.
